Oredog

Did you know dogs have a deep connection with Park City?  They are as responsible for founding this town as the miner’s themselves!

An oredog is a working dog that has been specially trained to aid prospectors in finding mineral deposits near but not on the surface of the ground. Many mineral ores (especially sulfide ores) emit a specific aroma that a dog can be trained to detect.

Although Park City mines were extracting precious metals mostly, dogs were still integral to their process.
